Thick oak beams and wooden floors marry with modern charm at this brand new destination hotel on the outskirts of York. Nestled within 1000 acres of lakes and woodland, Sandburn Hall provides the perfect setting for you to forget about your everyday, press the "reset button" and give yourself chance to breathe.  The hotel boasts 40 beautifully designed light and spacious bedrooms that enjoy magnificent views across the lakes and woodland, or access out to the courtyard garden.  My Wellness Days do not include overnight accommodation, however this can be arranged for an additional fee should you wish to make more of your escape.  Please get in touch to discuss options.

INSPIRING & RESTORATIVE YOGA

Take time to breathe

Enjoy two beautiful yoga sessions & plentiful mindful moments.  Your day will begin with an invigorating Vinyasa Flow class followed by a guided meditation to awaken our bodies and minds.  Your day will finish with another beautiful yoga session, this time a restorative and relaxing Yin class followed by a heavenly Savasana.

Please bring your own yoga mat, blanket, eye pillow & bolster.  All of the yoga equipment you need for this day can be purchased from my shop if necessary.  If you wish to collect your items on your Wellness Day and save delivery costs please make sure you select the "WELLNESS DAY CLICK & COLLECT" option for delivery at checkout.  

NOURISHED BY NATURE

Mindful moments

What is Forest Bathing?  It's a woodland walk like you've never experienced before!  Despite the name you won’t need to pack your swimsuit: it simply means the practice of slowing down and immersing yourself in the forest atmosphere. Originating in Japan, shinrin yoku (forest bathing), is good for both your physical and mental wellbeing. It is proven to reduce stress hormone production and can lower heart rate and blood pressure.  It can improve feelings of happiness, encourages creativity and can even help to boost your immune system - powerful stuff!

 

Your guided woodland walk will take approximately 1 to 2 hours and covers almost 3 miles over grassed areas and forest pathways with some uneven, and sometimes muddy, ground.  Please bring suitable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing.

TAKE TIME FOR YOU

Spoil yourself

During the afternoon of your day you will be able to enjoy precious time for yourself.  You are welcome to explore the hotel grounds and surrounding estate, mingle with other yogis or bring your favourite book and find the perfect quiet spot in the rose garden.  Alternatively for an extra £35 (30mins) you can book in with my onsite therapist for a decadent Indian Head Massage (please select this option at checkout if you would like to treat yourself).  

INDULGE YOURSELF

Delicious food

No curried lentils or green juices here!  Expect good honest food made with local Yorkshire produce.  Upon arrival you can enjoy a cold or warm drink and a selection of fresh pastries.  There will be further snacks and refreshments throughout the day and a delicious 2-course buffet-style lunch included with your ticket.  Please let me know of any dietary requirements in advance.

9:00am-9:30am A warm Yorkshire welcome

11:00am-1:00pm Forest bathing - a mindful guided woodland walk

 

1:00pm-2:00pm Delicious two course lunch

 

2:00pm-3:30pm Free time to explore the estate

3:30pm-4:30pm Relaxing Yin yoga with Ria

followed by a beautiful Savasana
